Location and microphone permissions (iPhone, Android, browser)
WHERESLI asks for location to show nearby places, use where you are now, and give relevant directions. It asks for the microphone only for voice search. Both are optional — you can always type a place or your request.
- iPhone app: Settings → WHERESLI → Location (choose While Using the App) and Microphone (on).
- iPhone Safari: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Safari Websites; for the mic, tap aA in the address bar → Website Settings.
- Android app: Settings → Apps → WHERESLI → Permissions → Location / Microphone → Allow while using the app.
- Android Chrome or desktop browsers: tap the icon next to the web address → Permissions (or Site settings) → allow Location / Microphone, then reload.
Permission denied: WHERESLI keeps working — choose a city or area in the location bar instead, and type instead of speaking.
Location not updating: tap Use my location again, make sure Location Services is on for the device, and step outside or near a window if the signal is weak.
Microphone unavailable: some browsers and older devices don't support voice recording. Tapping the mic explains why; typing always works.
Your location is used for results and directions on your device and isn't shown to businesses.
